Plain-English summary: FindAFour helps you plan rounds, play them, and analyze your game. Most of the AI Caddy analysis runs on your own device and your full swing videos stay on your device. We only send data to an outside AI service when you choose to run a paid AI critique. We don't sell your data. Weather warnings are estimates, not a safety system. The details are below.
1. Beta service
FindAFour (and its AI Caddy, “FixAFour”) is in public Beta. Features may change, break, or be removed without notice. We work to keep it reliable, but it's a community tool built by golfers — not a bank, a hospital, or a safety device. Use it in that spirit.
2. Accounts & your responsibilities
- Only post availability and tee times you actually intend to honor.
- Be respectful in groups and on the course — we remove abusive users.
- Don't spam, harass, scrape, reverse-engineer, or run commercial operations without our written permission.
- Keep your login secure and your contact info reasonably current.
- Only capture photos/video of yourself and people who have agreed to be filmed.
3. The AI Caddy (FixAFour)
The Caddy uses your device's camera, microphone, and GPS (only when you open a Caddy tool and grant permission) to read shots, analyze your swing, and track ball flight.
- On-device by default. The skeleton/club/ball tracking, the grip/wrist/clubhead crops, the auto-coach, the shot-shape estimate, and the physics math run locally in your browser and cost nothing. The audio “impact” listening is processed live and not recorded.
- Paid AI is opt-in. Only when you tap a paid AI feature (e.g. “Critique my swing” or “Where did it go?”) do we send a small, curated set of frames + close-up crops to a third-party AI provider for analysis (see §6). We send the minimum needed — not your full video.
- Estimates, not guarantees. All Caddy outputs — distances, club calls, swing reads, ball-flight and shot-shape guesses — are best-effort estimates from a phone, not launch-monitor measurements. Don't bet the ranch on them.
- Not professional instruction or medical/fitness advice. The coaching is informational. Play within your physical limits; consult a PGA professional or a doctor for real instruction or health questions.
4. What stays on your device
- Your full swing videos are saved in your browser's on-device storage and are never uploaded to us. They stay on that device until you delete them (or clear your browser data).
- Your personal swing calibration and per-club learning are stored locally on the device too.
- Clearing your browser storage or removing the app removes this local data — we can't recover it.
5. What we store on our servers
To run the service we store: your account + profile, rounds/availability/groups you create, scores, ratings, and a swing journal of your analysis results (summaries + the measured metrics, not the video). If you log an actual shot result to improve your estimates, we store that labeled data point. See the Privacy Policy for the full list and how to delete it.
6. Third-party services
We rely on a few outside providers, each governed by their own terms and privacy policies:
- AI analysis — when you run a paid AI feature, curated frames/crops are sent to our AI providers (currently xAI / Grok and Anthropic / Claude) to generate the read. We don't control their independent processing.
- Weather — forecasts come from a public weather API; your course location (coordinates) is sent to retrieve them.
- Payments — handled by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details.
- Hosting & database — our app and data run on standard cloud infrastructure.
7. ⚠️ Weather warnings are not a safety system
Tee-time washout risk and on-course alerts (rain, wind, “lightning risk”) are estimates derived from public forecast data — not real-time lightning detection or a personal safety device. They can be wrong, late, or unavailable. Never rely on them for your safety. If you see or hear a storm, seek shelter using your own judgment and official warnings. We are not liable for weather-related outcomes.
8. Payments, credits & AI usage
Planning, the on-device Caddy analysis, and weather are free. AI features that incur real third-party costs require a membership or AI credits. Credits are consumed when an AI request succeeds; pricing and inclusions may change during Beta. Cache hits and on-device features never consume credits.
9. Improving the product
We may use aggregated, anonymized data to improve matching, estimates, and coaching. For example, coaching guidance produced for common swing faults may be reused — stripped of any identity — to enrich the free coaching library for everyone. We do not sell your personal data or use it for outside advertising.
10. Our technology
The app, its design, and the on-device analysis (how we track, measure, fuse, and estimate your swing and ball flight) are FindAFour's proprietary technology. These Terms grant you a personal license to use the app — not any rights to the underlying methods, models, formulas, or data pipelines. Don't copy, reverse-engineer, or resell them.
11. Content & history
Rounds, skins ledgers, and attendance you create inside a group belong to that group. If you leave, the historical record stays (like a paper scorecard or a group text). Availability you post is a statement inside your groups that you're open to being matched — update or remove it if your plans change and others see it in real time.
12. No warranties & limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" during Beta, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent allowed by law, FindAFour is not liable for missed tee times, bad rounds, lost bets, inaccurate estimates, weather outcomes, injuries, or any other indirect or consequential damages. Play responsibly.
13. Termination & changes
We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or harm the community. You can delete your account anytime (see Privacy Policy). We may update these Terms as the product evolves; material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date, and continued use means you accept them.
